Green (but not associated with plants!)

  1. Green

    Green fills my backyard
Its iridescence reflects the inner me
    My knees, my ears
    My squinting eyes
All the lies my body has acquired.
    Barefoot summers blister feet
    But waterless lawns
    Need no trimming, weeding, resodding
    Or spoon feeding.
    Splendor in the artificial grass.

    1. I connect the "lies" to the "artificial". Foreshadowing? Love it!

  2. A fresh April day, the breeze caresess like a crystal splash of water.
The distant cascade of thousands of motors, lay silent.
Being dumpster adjacent, I see it is very popular today.
One bag at the top has green pull tabs.
    I offer a biodegradable
    prayer.

  5. “Green”

We have a small collection of garden hoses outside the house.
Most are coiled and limber, latched on to water, dribbling down their chins.
    But not all.

The older generation sunbathes in the back.
They lay rigid and dark through stacked terra cotta, elbows dry and cracked.
